Intelligent Pool World Record
Maarten van der Weijden and world records, a golden combination!
We know Maarten as an extremist. Someone who always does everything in their power to work for his Maarten van der Weijden Foundation. He is constantly inventing sporting challenges for himself. Of course, these kinds of challenges are a perfect fit for the sporty Swimm.
32 hours and 7 minutes of consecutive swimming
In the weekend of November 20 and 21, 2021, the time had come. Another world record in Maarten's name. He swam non-stop against the current of the Intelligent Pool by Swimm in.
Before that, the record was held by Brazilian Mayra Santos. In 2020, she swam in an Endless Pool for more than 31 hours in a row. The Brazilian's time equaled Maarten at 4.05 p.m. Then he swam 'calmly' for another hour to set the record a bit sharper.
Fortunately, you don't have to match Maarten and Mayra. Of course, you can decide for yourself how long you use the pool!
The Maarten van der Weijden Foundation
He broke this record to raise money for cancer research. This time, the money will be used to conduct a study into cancer in people with an intellectual disability.
As you may know, he has already raised a lot of money from his own foundation, the 'Maarten van der Weijden Foundation', for various cancer research.
At Swimm, we are extremely proud of the fact that we were able to help Maarten van der Weijden improve the countercurrent swimming world record.
